What should I bring?

Can I use the sauna or enzyme bath without a reservation?

We can accommodate you if there is availability, but rooms may be fully booked. To secure your preferred time and experience, we recommend booking in advance.

Can I book on the same day?

Same-day bookings are possible for the enzyme bath and private saunas on their own. As a guide, the sauna accepts bookings until 17:00 and the enzyme bath until 16:00 on the day. Depending on availability we may suggest a different time.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, credit cards, PayPay, Rakuten Pay, au PAY, d-barai, QUICPay, and transport IC cards. Payment is usually made when you leave after your visit.

Can you issue a receipt?

Yes. Please ask a member of staff.

Is there parking?

There is a parking lot shared with the adjacent KISSUIEN Stay & Food. By car, we are about 15 minutes from Kyotango-Omiya IC on the San'in Kinki Expressway.

Can I get there by train or bus?

About 8 minutes on foot or 3 minutes by taxi from Mineyama Station on the Kyoto Tango Railway. By highway bus, get off at Tankai Mineyama Shako or Mineyama Station.

If I stay at the hotel next door, how do I book Nuka to Yuge?

Please book your stay at KISSUIEN Stay & Food and your Nuka to Yuge visit separately. Hotel guests can rent swimwear free of charge.

Are the saunas private?

Yes. All five sauna rooms are reserved for your group only. A standard booking covers one room per reservation. For using several rooms at once or renting the whole facility, please consult us in advance.

Which sauna room should I choose?

NOKOSET suits those who want to warm up lying down, YHDESSÄ (with a TV) those who want to enjoy video or music, and JOKAINEN, where you can set the temperature yourself, those who are unsure about heat. For one or two people who want a quiet time, the Japanese-style HETKI or the Finnish-style TAUKO are good choices. All five rooms share the same price; the sauna page compares them side by side.

Can the sauna temperature be adjusted?

Yes. Please ask via the internal phone or directly to staff. In JOKAINEN you can also adjust the temperature yourself.

Can I pour löyly?

Yes. In every sauna you can pour löyly whenever you like.

Is it okay if I am new to saunas?

Yes. Nuka to Yuge saunas are designed to be easy to breathe in. If you are unsure, start with a shorter session and take breaks and fluids as you go.

Do the sauna rooms have a shower and amenities? Can I play music?

Each sauna room has a shower, and towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, cleansing gel, skin lotion, skin cream, a hair dryer and more are provided. Phone charging and Wi-Fi are available. NOKOSET, TAUKO and HETKI support Bluetooth audio, and YHDESSÄ has a TV (Chromecast). Drinks and rentals can be ordered via the room intercom. Toilets are not inside the sauna rooms; please use the shared ones in the building.

Can I extend if I run out of time?

Extensions are ¥500 per person per 10 minutes. However, we may not be able to accept an extension depending on the next booking. Please ask the front desk via the internal phone on the day.

Should I choose 90 or 150 minutes?

The booked time includes showering and changing. You can redo makeup and use a hair dryer in the changing room after your session. If you want to enjoy several rounds of sauna and rest at a relaxed pace, 150 minutes is recommended.

Can four people use a room meant for three?

NOKOSET, YHDESSÄ, and JOKAINEN can be used by four people for an additional charge. For 4 people, an additional charge per slot applies: ¥3,000 for 90 minutes or ¥3,750 for 150 minutes.

How many people can use TAUKO and HETKI?

TAUKO and HETKI are pair saunas for 1–2 people. Please choose the ticket for one or two people.

What are the open-air rest areas of NOKOSET and YHDESSÄ like?

NOKOSET and YHDESSÄ can be used fully privately, including the open-air rest area. The plain natural groundwater there is offered as a warm bath or a cold bath depending on the season, and has been operated as a cold bath since June 1, 2026.

Can the cold bath temperature be adjusted?

Cold baths differ by room: NOKOSET and YHDESSÄ have two baths at about 22°C and about 17°C, JOKAINEN about 17°C, and TAUKO and HETKI chilled baths at 13–14°C. In TAUKO and HETKI, ask via the intercom and we will bring ice, and hot water from the shower can warm the bath; their baths are also refilled with fresh water for every group, so you can step in without rinsing off first. The other rooms cannot be adjusted, so if you worry about the cold, choose a room with a warmer bath.

How long does the enzyme bath take?

Roughly 10 minutes of counseling, 20–30 minutes in the bran, and about 20 minutes to wash off — allow about 1 hour in total.

Can I use the enzyme bath without bringing anything?

Yes. We provide bath towels, paper underwear, and a hair cap. Amenities are included in the base price.

What is the enzyme bath like?

It is a bath that warms you gently from the core using only the heat of microbial fermentation, without electricity or gas. A house-made drink is served after the bath. How warm you feel and how you experience it vary from person to person.

Isn't the enzyme bath too hot?

The fermenting rice bran reaches 60–65°C, and it feels like about 42°C. If it feels too hot, you can take your hands or feet out or leave partway; just tell the staff. The bran tends to be warmer in the morning and gentler toward the evening.

Does the smell stay after the enzyme bath? Can I wash my hair?

A pleasant, slightly sweet scent of rice bran stays after the bath. You can wash your hair during the washing time.

Do I share the enzyme bath with other guests?

The regular enzyme bath is shared with other guests of the same gender at the same time, and the changing room is shared too. If you prefer not to be seen by others for health or body reasons, please contact us via our official LINE. The premium enzyme bath is fully private.

Can the rice bran cover my head and face too?

Yes, as an option (¥500). Please ask the staff.

What is the Premium enzyme bath?

A higher-grade plan in which you have the enzyme bath completely to yourselves. It suits those who want to take their time with breaks for fresh air and hydration, and couples or families.

How long does the Set Plan take, and how much is it?

Long is ¥20,000 per person for about 3 hours 30 minutes; Short is ¥18,000 per person for about 2 hours 30 minutes. Both are bookable from 2 guests and combine the enzyme bath with a private sauna.

Can I use just the enzyme bath on my own?

Yes. You can book the standard rice-bran enzyme bath online for one person. On the booking screen, select a shared men's session or shared women's session slot. Allow about 60 minutes. This is a shared session, not a private booking.

I would like to use the Set Plan on my own. What should I do?

If you would like both the enzyme bath and sauna for one person, please contact us on the official LINE. We will guide you individually through the combinations and available booking slots. Online Set Plan bookings are accepted for two or more guests.

What are your hours and closing days?

We are open from 9:00 to 19:00; reception for the Set Plan and enzyme bath is until 16:00. We are closed on Mondays and Thursdays.

Why does reception close at 16:00?

To give the rice bran time to ferment. The heat of the enzyme bath is neither electric nor gas but microbial fermentation itself, and if we extended our hours there would not be enough time to ferment and the temperature would not rise. We close reception at 16:00, let the bran bed rest, and prepare for the next day.

Can I use the sauna or enzyme bath during my period?

The enzyme bath can be used. We do not recommend the sauna; if you do use it, please use the shower instead of the cold bath.

Can I use the sauna or enzyme bath with a medical condition?

Symptoms vary from person to person. If you have concerns, please consult your doctor beforehand. If you feel unwell, do not push yourself — we are happy to discuss rescheduling.

Can I use the facilities while pregnant?

Saunas and enzyme baths during pregnancy can have a significant effect on your condition, so please consult your doctor without fail. If you have any concern at all, please refrain from using them.

Can I visit if I have tattoos?

Yes. Because the saunas are private, you can use them without worrying about others.

Should I remove my makeup before coming?

Cleansing gel is provided, so you can remove it after arriving.

Can I bring food and drinks?

You may bring drinks. Please refrain from bringing dangerous items such as glass bottles. Using the sauna while heavily intoxicated is dangerous, so please avoid it.

Can I eat at Nuka to Yuge?

We serve drinks only; no meals are served on site. We are happy to recommend nearby restaurants, so feel free to ask.

Can I take photos inside?

Yes. However, please be considerate in areas where other guests may be nearby, such as the shared areas of NOKOSET and YHDESSÄ.

Is there a smoking area?

The facility is non-smoking. There is a smoking area in the parking lot of the adjacent hotel.
